I almost couldn't believe my eyes the other morning when I looked out the window and found Zira sitting outside the door with a little mouse in her mouth looking oh so proud. I was shocked and instantly threw the door open and yelled at her to drop it- in an unusual moment of obedience she did just that. It was upsetting to see that the little mouse was still alive and was not looking so good. I ran up to get Chris and unfortunately for him, he had to be put the little thing out of his misery and then bury him away where he won't resurface....... poor little guy.
(I must admit that I am quite proud of the Dilly for catching a mouse though.....) But don't worry mice, I wouldn't count on Zira catching anyone else anytime soon.
